Despite these closures, online banking services will continue to be fully operational, allowing customers to perform transactions via bank websites, mobile apps, or ATMs.

The RBI ensures that the holiday schedule is transparent and communicated effectively to all financial institutions across the country. According to the RBI, bank holidays in India are categorized into three types: Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts. Regional holidays may differ, so customers are advised to check the specific holiday schedule for their state.
