Rashtra Sevika Samiti’s Disciplined Movement in Wagholi Enthralls Villagers

Wagholi, Pune – The Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Yerwada Division, held its highly anticipated Sri Vijayadashami Shastrapujan Utsav on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the municipal school premises in Wagholi. The event was marked by a grand disciplined procession, featuring over 220 women participants, marching in full force along the main road of Wagholi village.

The event kicked off with the salutation of arms by committee officers, followed by the symbolic path walk through Wagholi’s streets. The villagers, or Wagholikars, greeted the procession with enthusiasm, showering flowers on the participants as they moved through the traffic route, symbolizing their respect and admiration for the Samiti’s message of discipline and strength.

Navratri celebrations in Wagholi took on a special tone this year as the sight of Matri Shakti—the empowered women in large numbers—brought joy and pride to the local community. The dignified and organized movement during Vijayadashami reminded the citizens of the essential role of women in nation-building and cultural preservation.

Keynote speaker Manjiritai Kolhatkar, Province Executive Member, along with Sheetaltai Phatak, Province Publicity Head, addressed the gathering, reinforcing the importance of discipline, dedication, and unity. Chief guest Mrs. Poojatai Kand, President of Someshwar Credit Union, also praised the efforts of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti in empowering women and maintaining cultural values. Yerwada Bhag Karivahika Nashdai Manekar expressed heartfelt thanks to all attendees.

The event saw a total attendance of 345 people, including female volunteers and local citizens, marking a significant success for the Yerwada Division. This festival was a strong representation of the spiritual and cultural strength of women in society, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
