Southern Command to Host First-Ever Army Day Parade in Pune Alongside ‘Know Your Army Mela 2025’
The Southern Command of the Indian Army is set to mark a historic milestone with the Army Day Parade 2025 in Pune on January 15. This grand occasion, being held in Pune for the very first time, promises to showcase the might, technological advancements, and traditions of the Indian Army.
In the lead-up to the parade, the ‘Know Your Army Mela 2025’ will take place from January 3 to 5 at the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC), Pune. Open to the public and free of charge, the mela will offer citizens an unparalleled glimpse into the life, history, and capabilities of the Indian Army.
Event Highlights
Weapon and Equipment Display
Visitors will witness an extensive display of advanced weaponry and equipment, including:
- T-90 Bhishma tanks
- K9-Vajra self-propelled guns
- Smerch and Pinaka rocket systems
- Swathi Radar and Sarvatra bridging equipment
- ‘Made in India’ innovations under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative
This showcase will emphasize the Army’s operational excellence and its commitment to indigenous defense production.
Cultural and Live Performances
Celebrating India’s heritage and military traditions, the mela will feature:
- Martial arts demonstrations: Gathka, Malakhamb, Kalaripayattu, and Khukri Dance
